Would Toyota Camry 99 (96k) be reliable after a big repair work ($5,000) due to rear hit?

My Toyota Camry 99 (96k miles) got a rear hit: trunk is smashed, bumper went down on the backsides, but it runs OK. Insurance is ready to pay ,000 for repair. However, there was only the street evaluation, and we don’t know what is damaged inside the car. Can we suppose that the car would be reliable after the repair? My hubby wants to get a 2005 Mercedes 500ML and I want to buy a 2007 Toyota Prius Hybrid. He’s telling me that any repair costs for a Prius hybrid would be just as expensive as it would be for the Mercedes 500ML. Is this true? He thinks the Mercedes is a better buy than the Toyota, because we all know that Mercedes are very good vehicles. What do you think? Know better? Share your own opinion in the comments!

1998 Camry has check engine light on. Code shows exhaust gas recirculation inefficiency detected. I have checked the vacuum lines / connections and cannot find a loose connection or leak. I have a 2001 factory installed Toyota Seinna with an drop down TV /DVD unit./ One day, it suddenly became dark and then only audio was present. On closely looking, there is a very very faint picture. I have heard its due to bad picture tube. I need to make it ok for my kids to enjoy. Please guide. Picture link highly appreciated.
